While watching one of my favourite TV shows last night, I came across the story of a lady who had a very terrible motorbike accident. It was so bad, her face was totally crushed and unrecognizable. Her daughter witnessed this happen.
Interestingly, she survived it and was here telling the story over 10 years later.
Well, accidents happen every day, you might say, so what’s the big deal? I’ll tell you what the big deal is.
What caught my attention about the lady’s story was the fact that the accident happened right in front of a paramedic’s apartment. The daughter was able to get the attention of people by screaming and the paramedic was able to help her with oxygen, primarily and then some emergency aid before they could get her to a proper hospital. She went through a series of surgeries until she got better, obviously, her face and body aren’t how they were prior to the accident, but the consolation is, it could’ve ended up a lot worse if she hadn’t gotten some first aid. So how unlucky she was to have been in such a fatal accident, but then how lucky she was to have been in the accident, right where she did!
Now let’s back it up a bit. First off, who is a paramedic?
A paramedic is a healthcare professional, whose primary role is to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system.
Let’s take a moment to imagine she had this accident on a highway, somewhere in Lagos, Nigeria? Obviously, the story would have been different, extremely different in the sense that she’d have died before any hospital would even attend to her, most probably before even getting to any hospital.
Now let’s imagine if a solution already exists in Lagos. Must be nice, right? I thought so too. A solution that provides oxygen and emergency services to patients, hospitals and healthcare providers who need them in Lagos.
A service through which you could buy oxygen in Lagos from the comfort of your home, workplace, or even in an accident scene and it will be delivered to you as fast as you can imagine!
Okay, I know what you’re thinking right now, “it doesn’t exist” right? Well, what if I tell you it does exist?
